The Deniyaya Extension Centre was established in 1981 at Diyadawa, Deniyaya, and the new office complex of the centre was declared open in 2009 at a central location in order to cater the stakeholders’ demand from Matara and Hambantota districts. Basically, this centre covers an area of about 29,500 ha of tea, both of the Regional Plantations Company estates and smallholders. In addition to dealing with matters relating to advisory and extension work, it also provides facilities for soil pH determination and Nematode analysis of soil/root samples.
